Colin Ross worked for Linen Company's Bank in Scotland. Came to Canada 1833. Wife Elizabeth McLagan and family followed in 1834. Son, Alexander McLagan Ross b. Dundee, Scotland, 1829. They settled in Goderich, ON, Canada. Alexander M. became treasurer of Huron County and Treas. Minister of Ontario under Hon. Oliver Mowatt (as just two of his many activities). He married Agnes Kidd and had 7 children. One son, Alexander, was a civil engineer and railway builder. Anyone related to Colin Ross of the Dundee area of Scotland?

Dec. 24, 1779, at Ardlethon, Ellon, Aberdeenshire -d. Oct. 29, Collynie, Tarves, Aberdeenshire). Peter's 2nd born, a son Peter, (b. Sept. 12, 1810, Methlic, Tarves, Aberdeenshire) m. Mary Ann Imlar on Nov. 3, 1844. Emigrated Aug. 1867 to Quebec, then to Grand Rapids, MI, USA, in 1880. Request further info. about Duthie past in Scotland.
